A driving instructor sprang into action after a car overturned in Lincoln.

The instructor, who works for CSM Driving Tuition but asked not to be named, was giving a student a lesson in Meadow Lane when their car was overtaken by two vehicles.

The first he says managed to brake in time after seeing the stationary traffic in front.

However, he says the second wasn’t so fortunate and ended up on its side in a ditch.

Immediately, he asked his student to pull over the car and after seeing smoke start to seep out of the overturned car, he rushed out to help.

He said: “Two cars overtook. The first pulled in as it saw the stationary traffic ahead. The second overtook and didn’t realise. It ended up in ditch.

“We just stopped. I went with another member of the public.

“There was smoke coming out of the car. When you see that you don’t hang around.”
